Monaco in one day

Port Hercule at night, Monte Carlo

Port Hercule at night, Monte Carlo

The world turns its collective sights onto Monaco for the Formula 1 Grand Prix each May.

Monaco marches to its own beat. The second-smallest country in the world and home to the largest number of millionaires and billionaires per capita. It has no formal borders with France (so you won’t get a Monaco stamp in your passport), yet has it’s own royal family. It isn’t a member of the European Union, but uses the EURO currency and has no income tax.

Monte Carlo is THE playground for the rich and famous on the French Riviera. European sports cars line the streets, yachts swan about the harbor and gamblers the world have a roll of the dice.

Last year, I had a brief visit to Monte Carlo, whilst traveling around the Cote d’Azur. Here is my travel photography, from a quieter moment in the most exclusive city in the world.
