Melbourne singer Owl Eyes took to the stage of the National Gallery of Victoria’s Great Hall, as part of the Friday Nights musical guests for Italian Masterpieces Exhibition. Each Friday Night musical act is cherry-picked to perform at the NGV for a wonderful evening of art, music and wine.
I captured the action for LifeMusicMedia, check out the full gallery.
The last time I photographed Owl Eyes was at Pyramid Rock Festival, check out the photos.
There will be a selection of photographs on display by Melbourne’s best concert photographers, featuring artists such as; Queens of the Stone Age, Lorde, Arcade Fire, Tegan & Sara, Mastadon and Kylie Minogue (by yours truly). Photos available for purchase!

As the Summer comes to an end, I covered Soundwave Music Festival in Melbourne for Life Music Media. Always a thrill to shoot festival staples such as The Living End, AFI and MUTEMATH, as well as some amazing international artists for the first time; Green Day, Korn and Placebo.
So Frenchy So Chic in the Park returned to Melbourne’s Werribee Mansion for the third time. The music festival showcased an eclectic line-up, including Babylon Circus, Féfé, Lilly Wood & the Prick (unfortunately Lou Doillon cancelled due to illness).
Great music aside, SFSC is just as much about the food as it is the music! I rolled out my Renault picnic blanket and enjoyed several French-inspired food carts, including; Cacao Macarons, Bagel Burgers, The Brûlée Cart and Chooh La La roasted nuts.
Over the past hundred years, The Palace has been used as theatre, cinema and now a much loved live music venue. Still holding much of its original Victorian charm, it’s interior holds more significance to preservationists than it’s exterior.
It’s mid-sized capacity has made it a great venue to catch breaking artists, such as Florence + The Machine in 2010. I have photographed many local and international artists over the years at The Palace, including; Kylie Minogue, Groove Armada, Bush, Staind, Josh Pyke and Hanson.
I did my thing and took some concert photography, as well as a promo photoshoot backstage. Check out the photos below.
