Melbourne singer-songwriter had a hometown launch of her two albums, Little March & An Atheist Album. Just before the show, we did a promo photoshoot at the hotel and then I captured the magic onstage at The Toff in Town.

Laser lights of the Yarra River
White Night Melbourne is welcome addition to Melbourne’s arts calendar. Originating in Paris, the event saw the city is transformed into an all-night light show, with an estimated 300,000 people attending. While the crowds were overwhelming, there was plenty of entertainment throughout the night. I had a lot capturing the lights.

Big Day Out rolled into Melbourne on Australia Day. I was Life Music Media‘s live music photographer, covering the iconic music festival for the 2nd consecutive year.
Bands I photographed throughout the day include; Red Hot Chili Peppers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, Against Me!, Band of Horses, Foals, Grinspoon and Everytime I Die. Photographing Anthony Keidis and Flea, was probably one of my all-time rock photographer highlights!

Mariah Carey – Allphones Arena, Sydney
Diva Supreme Mariah Carey graced Australia with a Summer holiday cum tour – her first in 14 years, playing Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast. In contrast to some reviews, Mariah thrilled fans with a set list full of #1 hits, hitting that whistle register several times and trying our fine cuisine on stage – Vegemite and VB. My highlight – Can’t Let Go, a cappella. Unfortunately, Melbourne’s show was cut short due to an 11pm curfew.

Jenny Bannister & Phillip Boon
Live fashion chat show, Fashion Torque, hosted by stylist Philip Boon and designer Jenny Bannister, celebrated it’s 2nd birthday at Palmz rooftop in Melbourne. Dress code: CLASHING COLOURS. To discuss what’s what in fashion for 2012, the panel included buyer Sarah Gale, milliner Richard Nylon and fashion writer Janice Breen Burns. Check out how Melbourne’s fashion elite responded to the theme, in my Style Spotting gallery for Style Melbourne
On Friday night, I lived perhaps every 20-something year old’s teenage dream – I photographed Hanson at The Palace, Melbourne. After seven years, the Hanson brothers returned to play a string of sold out shows across Australia, reminiscent of when they packed out shopping centres in the late 90s. Taylor, Isaac and Zac have grown up smoothly with their audience, yet fully embracing their boy band origins, their setlist included hits MMMbop
and This Time Around
. The nineties revival is sure to continue.
