Aurelio Costarella, Runway 3
Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival coloured the town stylish once again, on an uncharacteristically warm week in Melbourne.
On the new site, at the charming heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building. Old world charm comes at a price – no air-conditioning, so some of the Autumn/Winter styling had to be altered to suit the rising temperature.
I covered the runway action, for the seventh consecutive year. Here are some of my highlights from Runway 2 and 3. Full gallery on Flickr.
Structured & feminine tailoring – Aurelio Costarella, Runway 3
Boho-ethnic layers evokes 70s rockstar – Camilla, Runway 3
Ladylike glamour to take you from day to night – Megan Park, Runway 3

Miss Vogue runway finale
The highlight of every Melbourne fashionista’s calendar, Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, arrived at the Docklands precinct once again. I covered the runway action, for the 6th consecutive year (I am becoming quite the veteran)! Maybe the influence of Virgin is responsible for the increasingly international presence, this year saw a few labels with roots in US and France.

Sometimes behind the scenes is more interesting than the finished product. This was true at Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival 2014. I captured the backstage action as the L’Oréal Professionnel Team transformed 17 models before for each runway show.
